Vertex Animation Toolkit

VAT baking & instanced rendering

Bake Vertex Animation Textures from skeletal meshes and play them back on instanced static meshes, rendering huge numbers of animated characters without per-instance skeletal overhead.

RTS crowd movement & pathfinding

Move thousands of agents as groups under a single order. Built for real-time strategy, with flow-field and A* pathfinding, formations, and local avoidance that keeps units from stacking.

  • Group formations (blob, box, wedge) with shared pathfinding
  • Dual pathfinding: flow fields for crowds, spatial A* for individuals
  • Local avoidance for natural flow around obstacles
  • Runtime walls, per-agent speed & movement event callbacks
  • Marquee / radius selection and Blueprint + C++ APIs

Pair them: render a massive army with the Vertex Animation Toolkit and command it with the Crowd Toolkit.
